First off, I’ve literally seen men cat call at a flying garbage bag. Like four of them were in a conversation, the garbage bag was flying by, he saw something moving out of the corner of his eye and just by instinct before even realizing he was like ‘Hey ma-‘, the rest in that second joined in without even seeing what was going on and then they realized they were trying to holla at a fucking garbage bag.
It’s literally anything that moves.
There are no standards.
When men catcall it has very little to do with sexual attraction but everything to do with intimidating women, male bonding, and claiming their space and the womans space as their own.
You want this validation because you think it means something and it will add to your self worth but that is bullshit because these men don’t want to add to your self worth they want to take it away by making you an object they can own and whose space they can claim. How is that honestly suppose to help your self esteem? If you need someone to call you attractive in order to feel attractive, well, you have a mirror and you have a voice. Start there.
