I can’t even begin to describe to you the surreal elation that I am feeling right now. I just had one of the most momentous nights of my life. Certainly the best night I’ve had in YEARS. I had a customer who was just plain fucking AWESOME. Not only did he take me for my very FIRST CHAMPAGNE ROOM EVER, but he also spent the entire night with me in a private booth outside of that literally until we closed. And he was super cool and nerdy just like me and we just understood each other.
When I counted my money at the end of the night, I realized I had made a NEW RECORD. Tonight I made the most money that I have ever made in single night. Ever. And not only that, but it was enough money to finally clear the last of a debt that I’ve been struggling with for TWO YEARS now. When I realized that I was finally out of debt, I literally cried in the dressing room, then announced it to my fellow dancers and was congratulated with lots of hugs and high fives.
And while those might be some of the best things I’ve had happen in my life, that’s not all of it. Tonight I earned that money giving a marine back a part of his soul. I really and truly feel that I helped him, and I’m not the only one - other dancers said the same to me.
But wait, there’s more! While we went to go check on his friend, I was approached by one of my tumblr followers!! Tonight was the first time I’d ever been approached by a fan, and she was perfect and sweet and gorgeous and I feel so privileged to have such a passionate and fantastic group of readers on here. She told me she works at another club across town (that I went to audition at, actually, but due to coincidence wasn’t able to) and she said she’s been reading this blog for a year and a half now. She told me she’d never met anyone else who loved dancing as much as she does until she found my blog. We must have hugged like, 15 times. I am so glad to have followers like her and I am so grateful to have had the chance to meet her.
In closing, I would just like to give a final shout out to J and N, who made my night, my holiday, and probably my year. I cannot even express how much this has meant to me.
